Background:
The project was initiated in response to multiple complaints from users within a building regarding weak WiFi signals and inconsistent WiFi speeds, even in areas showing a signal strength of 3 full bars. To address this issue, we provided our client with a demo Wireless Access Point (WAP) unit for testing, allowing them to experience improved internet speeds and reliable connectivity over a two-day testing period.
Objective:
To design and implement a WiFi coverage solution that would ensure a full and consistent signal throughout 95% of the building.
Execution:
Following the successful demonstration, we proceeded to create a comprehensive proposal for our client. The proposal detailed the required number of WAPs and their strategic placement to achieve the desired WiFi coverage goals. To achieve this, a heatmap plan was created based on the floor plan, taking into consideration the placement of walls and rooms, in order to determine the optimal number of WAPs required.
After receiving approval, the installation phase began and the WAPs were deployed according to the proposed plan.
Conclusion:
Upon completion of the installation, our client expressed great satisfaction that they no longer experienced internet dropouts while moving throughout the building, allowing for seamless connectivity. The project successfully achieved its objective, alleviating our client’s previous connectivity issues and ensuring a high-speed internet experience for all users.
